Advances equitable development through the creation and implementation of the Healthy Development Guidelines and supports push for Community Benefits from the Coliseum City Project through Oakland United Coalition.
Supports Justice Reinvestment Coalition in moving county resources away from prison and jails and towards community-based programs and support services.
Engages residents in leadership development around land use policies, healthy food access, housing and environmental justice and anti-displacement strategies.

The Neighborhood Action Team is currently engaged in two big projects:
1.) To get a City Resolution passed this fall to move the Healthy Development Guidelines (HDG) forward. Members will be meeting with City staff and Council to ensure its support.
2.) To present the East Oakland Congress of Neighborhoods's vision statements to the City Council on November 7th. The vision statements were created by East Oakland residents during 1st Community Assembly of the East Oakland Congress of Neighborhoods, which took place on Saturday, September 30th.
What are the Healthy Development Guidelines (HDG)?
The Healthy Development Guidelines is a Tier 1 project of East Oakland BHC, which uses the following seven categories to ensure that the health of our residents is kept a priority: Environmental Health; Economic Opportunity; Community, Culture & Safety; Healthy Food; Transportation; Housing; and Recreation & Active Design.
